Show off your Small Town Soul by heading up to Oxford, NC for their Annual Hot Sauce Festival and grab some authentic White Street brews while you explore their downtown scene. The White Street Truck will be set up to pour delicious brews on Williamsboro St. from 11am-4pm.
Here's some info on the event from the town:
Ten years ago Julia Overton, Owner of Stovall's Gifts located at 100 Main Street in historic downtown Oxford, hosted an event in her store to promote North Carolina products, specifically hot sauces. From that event, the NC Hot Sauce Contest was born and grown to encompass the four main streets in downtown; College, Main, and Hillsboro/Williamsboro Streets. With the support and sponsorship of companies that believed in this event since day one such as Bailey Farms, (the largest pepper producer/distributor on the eastern seaboard), Union Bank, and other prominent sponsors, we are able to welcome over 15,000 visitors to our town. The City of Oxford host over 200 vendors that are all here to sell, sample, and enter their special sauces in the hottest contest around.
All North Carolina Fiery Foods are encouraged to attend.
The 10th annual Hot Sauce Contest will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Come sample and purchase hot sauces, barbeque sauces, beers, wines and special foods all made in North Carolina.
This year should be bigger and better than ever and all the activities will certainly spice up the blends and texture of downtown’s historical streets. There is so much to do this year and the event continues to grow.
